pururchin Kelp Restoration Diver Certification
By Ron and Beth Beltramo

Eco Dive Center has teamed up with the Santa Monica Bay Keeper to produce a PADI specialty certification in Kelp Restoration.

The specialty trains you how to use all of the monitoring and restoration tools while underwater.  It also allows you to participate in the volunteer effort of this project without having to complete all of the requirements of a scientific diver certification.

Once we create a group of certified Kelp Restoration Divers we will be running a boat with four divers max every Saturday morning. We'll be working side by side with Captain Brian Meux of Santa Monica Bay Keeper and few good divers (hopefuly you). Participating certified divers will have schedued objectives throughout the 2011 season. Example: relocating specific urchins and replanting Kelp.

We're building a list of divers for this 2011 LA County Kelp restoration project now, email dive@ecodivecenter.com

List has 14 divers on it, looking for 60+ more to join.

Calling all other dive clubs too! PCHScuba, DiveVet's, LA Dive and Ride, West LA dive club, EcoDivers... ALL INVITED to get involved.
