Zooanthid anemones cover the pinnacle at Little Farnsworth.
Little farnsworth is a pinnacle dive that lies very close to Avalon, and very close to the shore. The top of the pinnacle comes up to 55ft, and the bottom around the pinnacle is around 120ft. The pinnacle is like a smaller version of Farnsworth, although it doesn't have the purple hydrocoral that Farnsworth is famous for. Still, I thought it was a great site.
The entire pinnacle is covered in white and yellow zooanthid anemones, which makes for a very colorful scene. Many nudibranchs can be found on the wall of the pinnacle, and cabezon and lingcod lurk in the crevices along side with pinnacle. Sheephead are very common all over the pinnacle.
Divers have sometimes seen giant sea bass at this dive site. When doing your safety stop, look for jellyfish and salps floating by in the current. Visibility can be great here, and the water can be very blue.
Currents can be very strong at this dive site, so don't let go of the anchor line unless you are sure you won't be blown away. Due to very heavy boat traffic, its highly recommended that you come up the anchor line at this dive site.
