This is what happens when engineers get involved in naming things. Getting past the dry moniker, a DPV is one of the greatest dive inventions to come along. Problems of current and traversing distance underwater disappear in the face of this little marvel.

Have you ever been at a dive site that was spread out? Chances are you had to prioritize where you wanted to explore simply because it would have taken all your air to move around at all. With a DPV you could have moved all around the site on the same tank. And if you’re a deep diver, these underwater scooters help to reduce exertion and potential narcosis while giving you much more range at depth.
