PADI Assistant Instructor Certification COMBO PROMOTION

PADI

Your journey begins here with the PADI Assistant Instructor course. As the first part of the Instructor Development Course, we nurture our AI students with great mentorship and real-life experience teaching scuba diving. Becoming a great teacher is as much about knowing the material as it is about empathy, engaging with your students, and spreading your passion for the underwater environment. Our veteran team of instructors have decades of cumulative experience, and work hard to impart their wisdom unto incoming instructors.

Experienced Assistant Instructors go on to become the best instructors, so we highly encourage our students to help with classes as much as they can. Diving with a buddy may be second nature by now, but no one is ever totally ready for the kind of challenges that come with leading a class of students in the ocean for the first time! Learning on the job means more diving, more time in the water, and more time with your dive buddies - everyone wins.

Forming bonds with other instructors and learning their teaching styles is a rewarding experience, and the best way to develop and mature a style that is your own. Taking your diving to new depths and enroll today.

Students who complete their AI course can continue to the Open Water Scuba Instructor course, and once they pass their Instructor Exam, will become bona fide instructors in their own right.

You'll learn:

  • Knowledge development through self-study, quizzes, lectures and presentations
  • Confined water skill review and assessment, workshops and presentations
  • Open water workshops, rescue assessment and candidate presentations

The sections:

  • Academic Training
        · PADI Discover Scuba Diving and Snorkeling Programs
        · Developing Knowledge Development Presentations
        · Teaching Project AWARE and Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialties
        · Teaching in Confined Water
        · Conducting Open Water Training Presentations
  • Independent Study (online and in the classroom)
        · Knowledge Development
  • Practical Application
        · Confined Water and Open Water Teaching Presentations
        · Standards Exam
        · Dive Rescue Skills Assessment
  • Internship  - Hands on with real students

In addition to the responsibilities and duties you already have as a Divemaster, as an assistant instructor you can:

  • Teach academic presentations under supervision
  • During confined water dives, present initial skills training (under supervision of a PADI Instructor)
  • Evaluate Open Water Diver surface skills  (under supervision of a PADI Instructor)
  • Teach and certify PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty Divers (under supervision of a PADI Instructor)
  • Teach Project AWARE Specialty courses
  • Teach the AWARE Coral Reef Conservation specialty course
  • Conduct PADI Discover Scuba Diving experiences in a pool or confined water
  • Teach PADI Digital Underwater Photographer specialty courses under the direction of a PADI Instructor after earning the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty Instructor rating

We highly recommend that our instructor candidates own all their own gear. Familiarity with your own set up translates into better dive skills and a more professional presentation. Not to mention the added benefit of looking totally bad-ass.
