Santa Monica Pier Underwater Clean-Up - Sept 20
Coastal Cleanup Day has grown into a huge annual event. The one-day cleanup is international, over 90 nations participated last year—and may be the largestvolunteer day on the planet so don't miss out! Coastal Cleanup Day involves divers, schools, community and company volunteer groups. Volunteers in LA County typically collect tens of thousands of pounds of trash from the beaches and underwater. By filling out the trash "data cards" during the cleanup, volunteers are helping to identify and stop future polluters. International Coastal Clean-Up Day at the Santa Monica Pier. We're meeting at 8:00am at the first life-guard tower north of the pier (tower 1550). Divers, snorkelers, or anybody that wants to join the clean-up efforts. Divers need to bring your certification card and a collection bag. We'll be documenting our findings and reporting them to Heal The Bay and ICC after the dive. CALL TO GET ON ROSTER 888-728-2252
Green IS the New Black
California has some of the best beaches in the world, and we're lucky that our Californian culture believes in the preservation and care of our beaches. Even still, trash and other debris does end up on our beaches, and it's important for us to do our part. Of course, this is Eco Dive Center we're talking about, and we can turn just about anything into a party. To encourage divers who participate in at least three of our Annual Eco Dive Center organized beach clean ups will earn themselves a free boat ticket.
Next Beach Clean: July 24th Thursday at 6:30pm Where: Dockweiler Beach at Tower 51 Party: Yep, party will be on the spot followed by a bonfire party
